the
wood used for edge of the ocean furniture
have been hand selected for its natural beauty and characteristic
appearance. the majority of our products are made from 100% natural
elements - wherever we can rely on the resources provided by nature.
it is our strict policy to use only timber
from sustainable sources and never use endangered tropical hardwoods.
the law of nature determines that no two sections of timber are identical
in grain, pattern and colour. this of course ensures that each piece
of your furniture is unique.
all surfaces when subjected to direct or indirect sunlight will mellow
and change colour over a period of time. new furniture may initially
vary in shade from items that have been previously purchased, however
in time the colour will “settle” and all furniture will
blend together.
the timbers that we use are:- |
 |
| beech |
 |
| a naturally pale, strong hardwood that
can be easily colour stained. we use european beech for manufacturing
most of our chairs and tables. |
 |
 |
 |
| maple |
 |
| a popular choice of timber,
originating from the usa, maple is a very pale hardwood with an unique
grain pattern which gives furniture a clean, modern appearance. |
 |
 |
 |
| pine |
 |
| still the most popular
of all timbers. originating from either the quebec region of canada
or northern scandanavia. our hand selected pine can easily complement
furniture you already have, or if colour stained, it can contribute
to a whole new ambiance. |
